Glimmer Mirror
Widower, Dr. Roger Babcock is a lead scientist at BattleCom Corporation, prime contractor of various highly classified U.S. military programs. He and assistant Tandy Chang are on a quest for a candidate to fashion Dragonhide, an ultimate battle armor only molecules thick. Their search centers on candidates of a carbon variation; the Buckminster-fullerene molecule, or buckyball. Through a series of accidents, Babcock discovers intriguing properties of Candidate #764. It’s unrelated to their main line of research but contrary to orders, he continues his investigation anyway.
Project supervisor, Dr. Andre Lancet discovers this insubordination and Babcock receives a written reprimand. It does not deter Babcock who continues his research at home in his basement. This is where he discovers what he calls the Glimmer Mirror with the potential to open portals to other worlds. Babcock continues gathering information and equipment. On the very night he is poised to cross through the Glimmer Mirror to a place he’s named Other-Where, Chan appears to tell him they’ve both been fired then rehired by a secret agency to continue their work on C #764. What follows is a wild ride through this and other worlds as Roger and Chang discover Glimmer Mirror’s potential and the plots and counter plots of those who will stop at nothing to possess Glimmer Mirror’s secret.
